What appears to be an average relationship turns out to be much more sinister due to the groundbreaking revelation by a woman’s fiancé. It all began after Caroline Muirhead met the outdoorsman named Alexander "Sandy" McKellar and fell deeply in love. Soon after the couple got engaged, McKellar broke the horrifying news upon Muirhead's own questions. Three years prior, he had killed a cyclist with his twin brother, Robert. Scared, the two then buried the body on their farm.

They also managed to hide this crime from all those around until recently, when everything came crashing down. Eventually, Caroline discovered that the cyclist was named Tony Parsons.

Additionally, McKellar asked for her help to move the body. Even though she was in dilemma, realizing that she must do something, she helped her then fiancé, but also put down a mark on the grave and alerted the authorities. As a result, both McKellar and his twin ended up being arrested. However, they were soon released as there was not enough evidence against them.

How Netflix’s true crime storytelling amplifies Should I Marry a Murderer?'s shock

Netflix is well-known for its compelling true-crime content through which they expose the dark side of human nature by drawing inspiration from actual events. The recent true-crime docu-series, Should I Marry a Murderer?, emphasizes emotions, suspense, and psychological aspects of the story rather than merely describing the crime. The uniqueness of this story lies in the fact that it combines elements such as love, betrayal, and ethical dilemmas.

To make it more authentic, Josh Allott, the director of the documentary series, has included exclusive interviews with Caroline Muirhead, her family, friends, and the case's attorneys and investigators. An unseen video from Muirhead's personal life is also included in the three-part series. Furthermore, Netflix has enhanced the story with carefully constructed interviews and truthful recreations.
