Netflix will release its fifth season of Love on the Spectrum, a reality show about real love stories between people who have neurodiverse conditions and are on the autism spectrum. The show received a renewal, owing to its ongoing audience appeal and its cultural significance, as they started working on new episodes and brought in new cast members.

However, the upcoming season will see a major character departure. The show lost its key character, Connor Tomlinson, who appeared in multiple seasons and captivated viewers through his personality and his emotional relationship with Georgie Harris. Tomilson spoke to the press about his decision to pass on the torch to the next person as he closes this chapter of his life. He also stressed that three seasons gave him enough space to navigate his love life.

“It is with humility and a heavy heart that I share I will not be partaking in Season 5. I feel like three seasons is enough to tell my story and find love on my own time," Tomlinson said, according to Variety.

Tomilson left the show following major life transformations which included his breakup with Harris that occurred during Season 4, off-camera. The couple ended their romantic relationship but stayed friends as their relationship reached its natural conclusion. However, Tomlinson's decision to exit the show when he actually turned into a major character, stems from a different reason.
