Netflix MMA Live Stream: Ronda Rousey to Face-Off Gina Carano This May

It will be a historic day in MMA history when living legends of the sport, Ronda Rousey (12-2-0, 9 submissions, 3 KOs) and Gina Carano (MMA: 7-1-0, 1 Submission, 3 KOs – Muay Thai: 12-1-1) will come face to face in a battle for the ages. They have both been the face of Women’s MMA for decades and taken the sport outside the bounds of the ring. However, after being out of the ring for quite some time, they have decided to make a comeback together.
Now, the world will witness them exchanging blows in the first-ever Netflix MMA live event happening in May.

MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) and Netflix have revealed that on May 16, 2026, Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano will square off in an incredible fight that will be shown live and only on Netflix. With her first bout in almost ten years against fellow pioneer of women's mixed martial arts, Carano, Rousey is back to upend the combat sports industry in the Netflix MMA event, and with apparent enthusiasm.
“Been waiting so long to announce this. Me and Gina Carano are going to throw down in the biggest superfight in women’s combat sport history, and we’re partnering with the fighter-first promoter, MVP, as well as the baddest streamer on the planet, Netflix,” Rousey told Netflix.
Moreover, the fact that Rousey's comeback will take place against another MMA legend is actually no accident. Carano herself revealed that Ronda had approached her for the match.
"Ronda came to me and said there is only one person she would make a comeback for, and it's been her dream to make this fight happen between us," said Carano. Over the years, there have been discussions of a showdown between Rousey and Carano, but it has not actually happened until Netflix and MVP's now confirmed livestream.
The Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano Netflix MMA event will be a huge crowd puller for the streamer, and it is all thanks to their diverse career that have found their way beyond martial arts and excelled in those domains too.
Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano's decorated careers
Both Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano have been phenomenal martial artists. During a record-breaking run from 2011 to 2016, Rousey set a high bar in women's mixed martial arts. Rousey, also an Olympic judo medalist, won multiple fights via submission and TKO/KO, many of which occurred within the first minute of the fight.
She eventually propelled the WWE women's division toward its first-ever WrestleMania main event following a dominant stint as the UFC Bantamweight Champion. She also ventured into the movie business, starring in the Fast and Furious and The Expendables films. She is also a New York Times bestselling novelist.

After her incredible MMA career from 2006 to 2009, Carano became one of the first combat sports stars to enter the entertainment business. Carano, who is frequently referred to as the "Face of Women's MMA," pursued an acting career due to her appeal and popularity outside of the ring. She landed significant parts in Deadpool, The Mandalorian, Haywire, and Fast & Furious 6.
In 2009, she also headlined the first major mixed martial arts main event with two female competitors, which was a historic occasion for the sport. Their careers in retrospect only add more fuel to the May 16 Netflix livestream.
