Netflix Is Saying Goodbye to One of Its Best Supernatural Shows and Fans Are Not Ready

Published 12/11/2025, 12:09 AM EST

A fan-favorite supernatural series will be leaving Netflix soon, prompting viewers to rehearse their emotional farewells like actors in a melodrama. Netflix has long offered an enviable catalogue, including supernatural landmarks such as The Haunting of Hill House and Stranger Things. Losing even one entry feels like someone dimmed the lights during the best part.

The platform has also hosted cinematic powerhouses like The Conjuring, Crimson Peak, and It, creating a buffet of eerie delights that encouraged viewers to sleep with hallway lights on. Netflix practically curated a university course in stylish fear. Now the departure of this series feels academically tragic.

However, the gap left by this supernatural jewel will throb noticeably, as though the spirits staged a walkout out of sheer principle.

Rewatch the beloved supernatural series leaving Netflix

The supernatural show in question is Evil, and it will exit Netflix on December 31, 2025, like a demon politely observing checkout time. Viewers who enjoy irreverent examinations of faith and fear should begin their watch promptly as the series rewards punctuality almost as much as it rewards skepticism.

Created by Robert King and Michelle King, Evil follows forensic psychologist Kristen Bouchard as she partners with priest-in-training David Acosta and technologically gifted realist Ben Shakir. Their investigations for the Catholic Church produce equal measures of terror and philosophical mischief. The result is a genre cocktail with both bite and elegance.

The first three seasons will remain on Netflix until the year’s end, giving audiences one last holiday binge before the show migrates. After its exit, all seasons, including the more recent installments, will reside on Paramount Plus. That platform becomes the new sanctuary for this supernatural enigma.

Across four seasons, critics praised Evil for its incisive commentary on modern morality and technological dread. Its 96 percent Rotten Tomatoes average suggests impressive supernatural stamina.

For those dreading the Evil-shaped hole in their watchlist, Netflix serves a generous helping of paranormal substitutes.

Netflix titles to watch when you miss Evil

If Evil has left a void in your supernatural cravings, Netflix United States has plenty to offer. Mindhunter explores the psychology of evil through FBI agents interviewing serial killers, while Midnight Mass, a Netflix series wilder than Hamish Linklater's Gen V cipher, immerses viewers in faith, doubt, and miraculous horror on an isolated island.

For fans of dark fantasy, The Sandman brings Neil Gaiman’s vision to life, following Morpheus, Lord of Dreams, in a moody, mythological landscape. Meanwhile, Dark, the German thriller, weaves time travel and disappearances into a labyrinthine mystery for the patient and curious.
