Netflix contemplates an unexpected spinoff titled 'Wednesday

Netflix Is Eyeing an Unlikely Spinoff for ‘Wednesday’ Centered Around a Beloved Character

Tim Burton is surely the maestro of all things eerie and quirky. He made his TV
debut with Wednesday, The Addams Family spinoff. It was a smash hit where people
loved seeing these oddballs strut their stuff solo-style. With the buzz around
Wednesday Season 2 buzzing louder than a haunted house, it looks like the Addams
Family is setting up camp for more ghostly shenanigans on the screen.

Rumor has it that another spinoff is being planned, maybe even bigger and
spookier than before. This spinoff will not be Jenna Ortega’s playground. It is
about someone else who has grown to be loved from the show. Here is the extra
spice in the Addams Family stew.

WEDNESDAY SPINOFF WITH THIS CHARACTER?

their colossal hit inspired by The Addams Family characters. With a staggering
250 million views last year and a consistent spot in the top 10 during the
year’s first half, the show’s wild success sparked talks about another Addams
Family venture. As per Bloomberg,

this time it is centered around Uncle Fester, as brought to life by Fred
Armisen. However, while plans were brewing, the Uncle Fester show was still in
the oven, pending storylines, securing talent contracts, and aligning schedules.

The streaming juggernaut aimed to expand its Addams Family world and cash in on
Wednesday’s triumph. In cahoots with Amazon, which nabbed The Addams Family
rights through its MGM acquisition, Netflix was eager to cook up a series of
Addams Family-related programs. This trend mirrored the industry’s obsession
with franchises as various streaming platforms and networks scrambled to whip up
spinoffs, prequels, and sequels of established shows.

Why pick Uncle Fester out of the bunch for a spinoff? Indeed, he is the real
diamond in the rough.

WHY UNCLE FESTER FOR THE SPINOFF?

In the depths of Wednesday’s Season 1, Episode 7, Fred Armisen brings Uncle
Fester to life in a quirky, on-the-run role. This seasoned TV talent, famed for
his SNL and Portlandia stints, injected a new spark into the character, stealing
scenes even amidst Jenna Ortega’s brilliance as Wednesday. Armisen’s knack for
captivating audiences sets the stage for a promising solo adventure for the
oddball Fester.

Uncle Fester’s unconventional escapades and Armisen’s magnetic portrayal create
the perfect recipe for a spinoff. In Wednesday’s world of spotlighting
individual characters, Fester’s lonesome persona becomes a magnetic draw. A
potential spinoff could unfold Fester’s globetrotting adventures, diving into
his encounters with various criminal circles and potentially unveiling elusive
Addams Family members, like the ever-elusive Cousin Itt. More so, promising an
unexplored arena.
