Actor Jeremy Strong is no stranger to playing powerful roles in the legal and corporate worlds. His big break came with his role as Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession, which earned him both a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe. More recently, his portrayal of attorney Roy Cohn in The Apprentice was widely praised, but now he is ready for a shift in career as well as the roles he has played.

After spending years playing intense corporate power players, Strong seems ready to move into a more religious setting for his next potential project with Netflix.

Sources have reported to Variety that Jeremy Strong is in talks to take on a lead role in a series adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s novel Crossroads. While official details have not yet been released and Netflix has declined to comment on it at the moment, a brief series description has offered some insight into the story. As per the description, the darkly comedic drama will follow a Midwestern pastor and his family after a scandal turns their lives upside down.

Moreover, as per sources, the series is a period drama set in the early 1970s. The novel it is based on was originally published in 2021. This project could also lead to more installments, as it is the first novel in an intended trilogy that Franzen has titled A Key to All Mythologies.
