Netflix reportedly went all out for Stranger Things 5. According to Kim Masters of Puck, the streamer spent between $400 million and $480 million on just eight episodes, which means each one cost around $50–60 million. That is blockbuster-level money for a television show! With that kind of budget, viewers can surely expect bigger scares, crazier effects, and epic moments throughout. Stranger Things is officially going full-on Hollywoodesque for its final season, and it is safe to say it will be worth the hype.

Stranger Things 5 will start streaming on Netflix from November 26, when Volume One, comprising episodes one to four of the season, drops. Volume Two, with episodes five to seven, is set to arrive on Christmas Day, December 25. Volume Three, consisting of the last episode of not only the season but the nearly decade-long saga, will air on New Year’s Eve, December 31. Meanwhile, amid the budget news of Stranger Things 5 coming out courtesy of Puck, it is important to note that it nearly doubles the dollar cost to make the last season of the Hawkins tale, which had one more episode than this season.
Stranger Things season 4 cost approximately 20 million less per episode to produce than the chapters in the upcoming season.
