Netflix has no shortage of ambitious projects keeping its release calendar busy, and its upcoming slate has plenty of star power. From Brad Pitt returning in The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by David Fincher, to Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man and Ben Affleck's Animals, the streamer has been building an impressive lineup. Now, Pressure is the latest addition, with Brendan Fraser and Andrew Scott leading the World War II thriller ahead of its November release.

Netflix is bringing another historical story to its streaming lineup, with Pressure revisiting a pivotal wartime moment through a high-stakes dramatic lens.

Brendan Fraser and Andrew Scott to lead Pressure

Netflix is bringing one of the most consequential decisions of World War II to its streaming lineup with Pressure, arriving on the platform in the US on November 30, 2026. Adapted from David Haig’s acclaimed 2014 stage play, the historical thriller moves away from conventional battlefield action to explore the military calculations behind the D-Day invasion.

The story unfolds across the final 72 hours before the Allied landings in June 1944, when an approaching storm threatens to derail the meticulously planned operation. RAF Group Captain James Stagg, played by Andrew Scott, warns that catastrophic weather could make the invasion disastrous. However, his forecast clashes with the more optimistic predictions of American meteorologist Irving Krick, portrayed by Chris Messina, setting up a tense professional and strategic standoff.

Caught between these competing assessments is Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower, played by Brendan Fraser. He must decide whether to proceed with the largest seaborne invasion in history despite the threat of devastating casualties or postpone the operation and risk losing the element of surprise. With the future of the Allied campaign hanging in the balance, Pressure turns a weather forecast into a decision of historic proportions, as seen from the first look.

However, wartime tension is not the only flavor Andrew Scott has on the Netflix menu, with the actor also attached to a considerably more lighthearted project.

Andrew Scott's upcoming romantic drama

Andrew Scott has another Netflix project on the horizon, although this one trades the military calculations of Pressure for a considerably more romantic setting. The actor is also starring alongside Emily Blunt in Walk the Blue Fields, an upcoming romantic drama adapted from Irish author Claire Keegan's acclaimed 2007 short story collection. Directed by John Crowley, the film is currently in post-production.

Set in rural Ireland, the story follows Margaret Flusk on her wedding day, when an unresolved romance from her past threatens to complicate her future. The situation becomes particularly delicate when the Catholic priest officiating the ceremony turns out to be the man who once loved her. With Walk the Blue Fields expected on Netflix in late 2027 or early 2028, Scott's streaming slate stretches from wartime dilemmas to matters of the heart.
