Netflix will launch a range of anime series in July 2026, consisting of a wide array of new, old, and season entries in the already existing series that people have been eagerly waiting for. July is packed with a variety of genres, including action, fantasy, and coming-of-age stories. With a blend of original series and anime adaptations of famous manga series, Netflix is expected to have a wide range of anime titles this July. From long-awaited debuts to the latest chapters of beloved series, July offers a diverse slate of releases for both longtime anime fans and newcomers alike. 

The lineup begins with a striking original anime that re-imagines history through a coming-of-age story. 

Sparks of Tomorrow

Sparks of Tomorrow is a new, full-length manga series set in an alternate version of early 20th-century Kyoto, where steam power replaces electricity, and the city is filled with smoke. The story is about a boy in mourning who loses his faith in the future after his brother dies, and a girl with deep faith who carries the pain of losing her mother. Their paths cross, and they discover the mysterious 20th Century Electrical Catalog, a glimpse into an electrical future. 

The boy is hardened by the loss of his brother and becomes distrustful when their shared dream of an Age of Electricity is cut short. Their journey compels them to face their pasts as they are faced with the decision to fight for the future they dreamed of. The series is an anime adaptation of Hiro Yūki's light novel 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku, and is directed by Minoru Ōta and produced by Kyoto Animation.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm

The anime is adapted from the manga Yomi no Tsugai by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of Full Metal Alchemist. The manga debuted in 2021, so fans have been waiting for an anime adaptation for over 5 years now. The series is already streaming on Crunchyroll but will be available worldwide on Netflix with multiple dubs. Daemons of the Shadow Realm tells the story of twins Yuru and Asa, who have lived their lives apart since childhood, not knowing the amazing destiny that will bring them together. 

Yuru learns about what happened to his sister, and he resolves to save her and starts his quest to save her. He uncovers a parallel world where supernatural creatures named Daemons and humans. The reunion leads to a battle that will alter the equilibrium between both worlds. As hidden truths come to light, Yuru finds himself at the center of a conflict that could determine the fate of both humans and Daemons.

Stepping away from supernatural battles into the realm of traditional performance, the next anime tells an inspiring story of ambition and resilience. 

Akane-Banashi

Akane-banashi is about Akane Osaki, a talented young girl who wants to master the traditional Japanese art of solo storytelling, rakugo. His father is unfairly kicked out of the profession before he can become a shin'uchi, and Akane promises to do better than anyone expects and to bring honor back to his family. Guided by renowned rakugo masters, she trains tirelessly amid cutthroat competition and a challenging professional landscape. 

Her journey has been one of perseverance, self-discovery, and carrying on her father’s dream that was never realized. Netflix has plenty of Akane-Banashi episodes in the bag, as the series has been confirmed to have two cours for a total of 12 episodes. The adaptation is expected to introduce a wider audience to the art of rakugo while bringing one of recent manga's most acclaimed stories to the screen.

The month’s largest returning favorite takes the Straw Hat Pirates to one of the series’ most anticipated destinations. 

One Piece: Elbaf Arc

After years of anticipation, the Straw Hat Pirates finally arrive in Elbaf, the legendary homeland of the giants. A much-awaited visit turns into a dangerous adventure when Luffy and his friends discover ancient secrets about the island's past, fierce warriors, and the hidden past of the world. The arc also adds to the lore of the Giants, the Void Century, and the race to the One Piece. Elbaf is a major arc in the Straw Hats’ journey to the final saga, as new enemies emerge and some long-awaited allies return.

Netflix's One Piece, which is also coming to July, remains one of its most popular anime IPs, and July will wrap up the first cour of the Elbaf Arc. The second cour will be released sometime later in 2026, with up to 26 episodes coming out each year. The Straw Hats survived the attack of the Marines and the Gorosei on Egghead Island and were saved by the giant-sized Giant Pirates. Luffy continues his quest to find the One Piece, and new friends and threats appear on their way to Elbaf , the land of the giants.

July 2026 highlights the increasing diversity of Netflix’s anime catalog, with the slate ranging from emotional coming-of-age stories and supernatural adventures to traditional Japanese arts and long-running shonen epics.
