The brutality of these murders was essential to be shown to the masses but also faced backlash for profiting off such a tragedy. Despite it all, it was Evan Peters who received much credit for his impeccable acting, leading to the renewal of the show.

As per Screenrant, Monster season 2 will put focus on a new killer and his streak of victims. Despite the first season’s criticism, the show got great reviews, with Evan even bagging award nominations for his work. Having worked in American Horror Story, the actor has enough experience in doing gory roles and will still appear in the second season through a new villain.

But the first season was based on a true crime story, which makes one wonder if it will inspire the second season on true incidents. It followed the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered around 17 men of different ages between 1978-1991. The OTT platform tends to fuel anger when a good series gets canceled while others are renewed. In the case of Monster, it was a successful show, but it was also supposed to be a limited series.

Fans are upset at the thought of a gory real-life-based series like this one getting renewed, especially since some of their favorite shows got canceled. Another one pointed out how the families of the victims could get affected by seeing the makers profit off of such traumatic events.

But often fans tend to watch the shows despite criticizing them. So perhaps Monster 2 could find its fan base among lovers of gory scenes. The series is expected to release somewhere between 2024-25, although Evan Peters is yet to talk about it openly.
