Straight from the brilliant minds of the creators of The Hunting Wives, their first brainchild is Netflix's latest drop, Hightown, which has arrived to captivate the eyes of crime drama lovers. When it premiered on Starz in 2020, creator Rebecca Cutter received critical acclaim for its raw portrayal of Cape Cod's organized crime scene and the local opioid epidemic. Most crime dramas often parade around police in uniforms or high-octane heists, but Hightown etched its way to the top, creating a unique and fierce niche.

Boasting a deep character study and analytical portrayal of the realities of crime, trauma, and addiction, Hightown's journey from Starz to Netflix marks its glorious return to a streaming platform after a short disappearance.

Netflix has unleashed all the episodes of the picturesque crime drama, Hightown, ready to be binged in one go. It first aired on Starz on May 17, 2020, and continued for three seasons until March 8, 2024. Despite the completion of its production in early 2024, Starz suddenly took down the series to the viewers' dismay. However, Netflix came to the rescue.

Formally adding all three seasons (25 episodes combined), the streaming platform launched the crime drama on July 23, 2025. The show immediately rose to Netflix's top 10 most-viewed series in the US. Landing at number 5, it is currently trailing The Hunting Wives and Netflix's latest blockbuster original, Untamed.

All about Rebecca Cutter's Hightown: Cast and storyline

Set in the scenic Cape Cod, this Rebecca Cutter series amalgamates murder investigation with the harsh realities of addiction, keeping at its emotional center a very complex character. Exploring the nuances of violence and compassion, Hightown examines how drugs, anxieties, and redemption overlap in Massachusetts. As the plot thickens, Cutter's drama zooms in on the intricacies of a recovering addict whose inner demons fuel the moral complexity of the plot.

Jackie Quiñones, played by Monica Raymund, famed for Chicago Fire, becomes central to the storyline of Hightown as a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service Agent coping with addiction. The show also stars Riley Voelkel (The Originals), Shane Harper (Good Luck Charlie), Atkins Estimond (Get on Up), Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break), Dohn Norwood (The Sinners), Luis Guzmán (Wednesday)and James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3). Throughout its run, the show received critical praise for its addiction portrayal and Raymund's stunning acting performance.
