The internet is once again abuzz with the powerful melody of ‘Bella Ciao,’ and the hopes of revolution have once again been lit by something unexpected dropped by Netflix. The world of Money Heist has expanded over the years, especially with Berlin, a beloved spin-off from the franchise that is coming out with its second season on May 15. But what has the fans in a complete chokehold is not something related to this spin-off - it is something that relates back to the original series - something Netflix has only hinted at right now.

According to the internet's math, Netflix is cooking up a sixth season of the world-famous heist series. But is it really the case?

Is Money Heist Season 6 really happening?

There is no official confirmation on this from Netflix. For now, we only have a teaser from the streaming giant, which does nothing but take the audience back to the world of Money Heist, and subtly promises something more out of that world. However, it did not give even an iota of a hint about the details of the new project.

The internet went into investigative mode as soon as the recently released video was posted on Netflix's social media platforms. The teaser, which is full of symbolic imagery such as Salvador Dalí masks, red jumpsuits, and an eerie new version of 'Bella Ciao,' strongly implies that the world of La Casa de Papel is getting ready for yet another significant expansion. And if that was not enough, they brought in The Professor (Álvaro Morte) at the end of the teaser to further intrigue viewers.

The Professor is the heart of the Money Heist series, and he continues to be the face of the franchise for many, even after the series ended in 2021. The character's reappearance in Netflix's most recent teaser suggests the streaming service may not be done delving into the franchise's underlying mythos, even if it has been five years since the conclusion of the original series.

However, it is still unclear if Netflix is hinting at Money Heist Season 6, a different spin-off series, or a completely new chapter based on well-known franchise characters.

Could the teaser be pointing to something entirely new?

The teaser has really confused the avid supporters of the franchise, and the appearance of Álvaro Morte has added to the rumors of a Money Heist season 6 in the works. But if one looks closely at the message that accompanied the clip, the mystery takes a different route instantly.

“The dream continues. The universe of ‘Money Heist’ expands.” - reads the translation of the message that came with the clip.

The message seems to be nudging the focus toward expanding the universe of the heist drama and taking it a little further into the uncharted waters. The wording gives an idea about the mysterious new project as something deeply attached to the world of Money Heist, but not exactly the continuation of the original series. For what it is worth, the actual meaning behind the teaser can only be confirmed by Netflix itself, and for now, fans have Berlin season 2 to look forward to.
