Millie Bobby Brown’s Netflix Update: Kerri Strug’s Biopic ‘Perfect’ Sets Filming Dates
Millie Bobby Brown has finally said goodbye to her Stranger Things role as Eleven and moved on from Hawkins. But she is not planning to move on from Netflix any time soon, as she has been signed for another project with the streamer - a sports biopic on Olympic gold medalist Kerri Strug titled Perfect. Netflix’s Perfect starring Millie Bobby Brown starts filming from June 8, 2026, as per What's On Netflix. Bobby Brown will also co-write and produce the movie, which puts a lot on her plate besides playing the main lead, and not to mention the gruelling training she would have to go through to play Kerri Strug, the pro American gymnast. Gia Coppola (The Last Showgirl), who is the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, will helm the upcoming Netflix Original biographical sports drama.
The screenplay for the movie is being adapted from Olympic gold medalist Kerri Strug's memoir, Landing on My Feet: A Diary of Dreams, by Ronnie Sandahl and Millie Bobby Brown.
The producers of the project include Thomas Benski, who produces through Magna Films, and Nik Power, who does it through Riverstone Pictures. Jeremy Baxter, Millie Bobby Brown (through her PMCA Banner), Marisa Clifford, Deepak Nayar, Ronnie Sandahl, and Olivia Wilde are also mentioned as producers on the project. According to Deadline, Netflix is in talks to land the package, and the deal is not finalized yet.
The crew seems to be pretty much sorted out, and they already have an interesting story at hand - a story of grit and resilience that led to the rise of an American sports legend.
What is Netflix’s sports biopic Perfect about?
The storyline dramatizes the real-life tale of Kerri Strug's Herculean efforts to help Team USA win the first gold medal at the 1996 Olympics. She was a member of the American women's gymnastics team, known as the Magnificent Seven, that included Jaycie Phelps, Amy Chow, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Dominique Dawes, and captain Amanda Borden on the squad.
In the Olympics, she executed the final, winning vault despite having a severely damaged ankle to save the US from certain loss. The picture of her coach, Béla Károlyi, carrying her to the podium came to represent those Summer Games, and is still regarded as one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history.
