Netflix is clearly keeping pace with the shifting appetites of the audience when it comes to female characters. Once confined to docile and dutiful portrayals, female characters are now taking the spotlight as bold, vulnerable, and layered. That same spirit is of the unnamed protagonist of the comedy drama, Vladimir, on Netflix.

Not just the female protagonist but every character in Julia May Jonas’ novel carries a distinct voice and unmistakable presence. And to translate this emotional complexity and bring its lush narrative to the screen, the series has assembled an impressive cast, worth getting to know before the show begins.
