Meet the Cast of 'The Rip': Star-Studded Lineup for Netflix’s Latest Miami Crime Story

Netflix is set to drop yet another nail-biting thriller with an adrenaline-pumping narrative about trust, loyalty, and Miami crime, with a mighty ensemble of artists in The Rip. Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Narc), the mastermind behind the flick, spotlights a star-studded task force whose unity breaks apart after millions of dollars in cash are found in a rundown stash house.
This new crime thriller blurs the line between law enforcement officers upholding the law and outsiders tempted to break it, with a glamorous cast confronting the challenges and bringing the action-drama to life.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck celebrate their lifelong friendship by starring together as long-serving Miami police officers in The Rip. Their bond is put to the test in the face of greed, suspicion, and the perils from those who outrank them, as well as threats from outside.
Ford v Ferrari icon Damon plays Lieutenant Dane Dumars. At the same time, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Affleck portrays JD Byrne, a Detective Sergeant, becoming the center of the film's emotive universe with their on-screen and off-screen partnership of more than 10 years.

Beef, Mickey 17, and The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun takes on the role of Detective Mike Ro, who packs in intensity with the help of his co-stars, namely Teyana Taylor as Detective Numa Baptiste and Catalina Sandino Moreno as Detective Lolo Salazar. Monero is recognizable for her performances in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), American Gothic (2016), and Ballerina (2025), among others, while music icon Teyana Taylor has, most recently, starred in Ryan Murphy's legal drama All's Fair (2025), alongside Kim Kardashian.
In addition to them, Sasha Calle, Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler, Néstor Carbonell, Daisuke Tsuji, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Scot Teller, Shawn Michael, Iván Amaro Bullón, Chris Silvestri, Kathleen Deming, Dave Ferrier, Chyril Paulann, and Lina Esco also play supporting roles in the cast, delivering powerful performances as tension builds between these characters as they navigate power shifts and an electrifying drama.
Together with their wide range from action to drama, they built a multifaceted plot of crime, betrayal, and survival, which will be released soon for streaming.
When to expect The Rip on Netflix?
The Rip will be available globally and exclusively on Netflix from January 16, 2026. The movie is anticipated to be one of the most thrilling early releases on Netflix, as it has integrated three different genres, i.e., crime, drama, and action, in a compactly paced experience.
