Meet the Cast of ‘Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ Part 7: The Voices Behind the Latest Anime Adaptation

One of the most popular anime of all time, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, is now ready to transition to Sienen storytelling with its latest Steel Ball Run, leaving its Shonen era behind. The anime now attempts to portray more mature characters in a more artistic way. Having carved a special place in the audience's hearts with its offbeat and sometimes over-the-top storytelling, it will now adapt the most beloved arc from Hirohiko Araki's cherished manga.

Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure will combine supernatural powers, epic races, and Araki's distinctive weird style to captivate viewers once again.

To take things a step further, the makers have managed to assemble a stellar cast to voice the characters in the anime.

Steel Ball Run, the latest entry to the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, features a solid cast of characters, including Johnny Joestar, the main character, Gyro Zeppeli, his mentor and ally, Diego Brando as his adversary, and important characters like Lucy Steel, Steven Steel, Sandman, and Pocoloco.

The original, or Japanese version, will have Shōgo Sakata voicing Johnny Joestar, Yōhei Azakami for Gyro Zeppeli, Kaito Ishikawa for Diego Brando, Rie Takahashi for Lucy Steel, and Kenta Miyake as Steven Steel. On the other hand, the English dub will have Daman Mills voicing Joestar, Kaiji Tang as Gyro Zeppeli, Damien Haas as Diego Brando, Frankie Kevich as Lucy, Jamieson Price as Steven, Alejandro Antonio Ruiz as Sandman, and Cedric Williams as Pocoloco.

The series is being animated by David Production, with Toshiyuki Kato serving as series director and Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi co-directing. Daisuke Tsumagari is in charge of character design, and Yasuko Kobayashi is back to supervise the screenplays. Yoshikazu Iwanami is also back as sound director, while Yūgo Kanno is writing the soundtrack. Hirohiko Araki's manga is known for its iconic, weird, and grandiose style, which the production aims to bring to life as per the mangaka's vision.

With almost everything fallen into place for the new season, it is only natural for one to wonder what new adventure Steel Ball Run will take them on.  

A new setting, a new motive, and a brand-new thrill

Steel Ball Run, which is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, will transport the fans to the wild west of 19th-century America. The story will once again focus on a Joestar (Johnny Joestar this time), where the Joestar story transforms into an alternate reality propelled by a $50 million prize in a cross-country horse race.

For the ultimate race, riders from all over the world gather in the Wild West. After seeing Gyro Zeppeli in a duel, Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who was paralyzed from the waist down, momentarily regains the ability to walk. Johnny enters the most epic race across the American frontier because he is determined to get to the root of his new strength.

Along the way, he encounters perilous stands, competing racers, and unforeseen adventures, ones for which the cast will use their voices to perfectly deliver the thrill of.
