Martha Stewart has never been particularly interested in staying in one lane. The woman who once turned a meticulously set table and a perfectly timed soufflé into television events has spent the years since pushing her brand into stranger, sharper and often more unexpected corners of pop culture. From her candid celebrity friendships to her famously unfiltered social media presence, Stewart has become as entertaining for her personality as she is for the lifestyle expertise that made her famous. 

And if there is one thing Stewart has perfected, it is the art of making a return feel less like a comeback and more like another item on a very well-organized itinerary.

Nearly two years after her documentary Martha premiered on Netflix, Martha Stewart is returning to the platform with full-length episodes of Martha Cooks and video editions of The Martha Stewart Podcast. Martha Cooks arrives on Netflix on August 25, while the podcast begins streaming as a video series on August 26 through Netflix's partnership with iHeartMedia. The audio podcast will continue to be available through iHeartPodcasts and iHeartRadio. 

The move makes sense for Stewart, whose television persona has always worked because she can make a kitchen counter feel like a miniature classroom without losing her sense of humor. The podcast extends that same curiosity into conversations with people from different corners of culture and business. Its Netflix debut features Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, with future guests including Benny Blanco and author Harlan Coben. Stewart described Netflix as a fitting partner for bringing the show's thoughtful conversations to a larger audience.

There is also something wonderfully circular about this particular Netflix return. Stewart's career has been built on the belief that learning is part of living, whether the subject is cooking, gardening, entertaining or an antique lamp that needs rewiring. Her streaming strategy simply gives that philosophy a bigger screen and a new generation of viewers.

That playful side was especially visible this week when Martha Stewart appeared in Starbucks' new Pumpkin Spice Latte campaign alongside Belmont Cameli. In the cheeky commercial, Stewart orders the classic fall drink and jokes that it makes everyone “a little more basic,” before Cameli appears and sparks an unexpectedly flirtatious exchange. 

The funniest part came after the commercial. Stewart revealed that she had actually filmed the scene with a stand-in rather than Cameli himself, then jokingly noted that the actor was “cuter.” It is exactly the kind of dry, self-aware humor that has helped Stewart remain culturally relevant long after the traditional lifestyle-TV playbook changed. Starbucks' fall menu launches August 25 with the returning PSL alongside new pumpkin, pecan and banana-inspired drinks, plus a chai-and-cider “Chaider.” 

For Stewart, the Netflix return and the Starbucks moment feel like two sides of the same career instinct: never stop experimenting, never stop learning and never take the image of Martha too seriously.
