Loved 'Vladimir'? Your Next 6 Best Obsessive Dark Thriller Dramas To Watch On Netflix

Netflix’s latest release, Vladimir, offered the audience something new with its unique obsessive thriller dramedy style. The ride became enjoyable the second Rachel Weisz broke the fourth wall at the very beginning of the show and directly addressed the viewers. It became clear in that second that we are in for something absolutely crazy. The show was further enhanced by the chemistry between Weisz and Leo Woodall.

Now, after watching the show, it is understandable that there might arise a craving for more such content, and here are a few shows that might hit the spot.

You (2018-2025)

You is a best example of obsessive thrillers in recent times. The protagonist, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), is a simple bookstore manager who considers himself a romantic, but whose obsessions get creepy and often times violent. The audience is going through the show from the POV of Joe, thanks to his voiceover, so they become personally attached to him. This helps create sympathy and understanding for his actions, even when wrong.

Joe has unnerving depth thanks to Penn Badgley's subtle acting. In fact, he frequently begs fans to quit romanticizing the character and see his actions for what they are. Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble's ability to transform what should be a repulsive lead character into someone you subtly sympathize with is what makes You so brilliant. The plot of the show is constantly twisting and turning.

Behind Her Eyes (2021)

Behind Her Eyes is a gripping psychological thriller series that ventures into the intricacies of love, treachery, and obsession. The narrative centers on Louise, a single mother who becomes entangled in a precarious romantic triangle with David, her new boss, and his enigmatic wife, Adele. Things start to become more and more complicated as Louise begins to get drawn into their married life.

She soon finds herself surrounded by lies and mystery. The series keeps you wondering right up to the very end with its thrilling plot twists, complex character interactions, and spine-tingling tension. A tale of deceitful love with elements of desire and a nasty truth hidden deep within deception.

Wanderlust (2018)

The six-part drama series Wanderlust, co-produced by Netflix and the BBC, focuses on an on-screen couple trying to maintain their romance. It follows Toni Collette's character Joy, who is navigating the choppy emotional waters of her relationship with Alan (Steven Mackintosh). They are both currently undergoing some problems with physical intimacy in their relationship, and how they make it work forms the crux of the show.

Creator Nick Payne has done a great job portraying his characters with all honesty, resulting in a first season that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Wanderlust has many admirable aspects, but without Toni Collette's precise, nuanced performance, the show would have been just another fish in the sea.

Crashing (2016)

If you think that Fleabag is the only dry-witted and epically funny sitcom on Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s resume, then you are wrong. She proved her comedic chops in the 2016 sitcom Crashing, where she joins some 20-something and with them becomes the property guardian of a desolate hospital in exchange for cheap rent.

Similar to the house-share setup, the backdrop of an abandoned hospital provides room for several interesting individuals to grow and have their own tales. Sam (Jonathan Bailey), a conceited, womanizing estate agent, and Melody (Julie Dray), a sensual teacher/artist, are especially entertaining.

The Four Seasons (2025)

The Four Seasons chronicles three affluent, well-dressed couples in their fifties over the course of a year. They have been friends since college and now spend four weekends away together. Tina Fey portrays the pragmatic, stiff Kate who plans the quarterly mini-breaks and is married to Jack (Will Forte). The show also features the supremely talented Steve Carell, who plays Nick in the show.

There are several appropriately funny moments in The Four Seasons that are based on specific middle-aged experiences. It conveys the cozy, tired love for life and one another that only lifelong friends and committed spouses truly understand through its drama and comedy. It recognizes that eventually, it does not matter if your significant other did the job as asked, but if they put adequate efforts toward it.

Finding Her Edge (2026)

With complicated love triangles and pretend dating taking place against the backdrop of ice dancing, Netflix's Finding Her Edge brings viewers a warm and heartfelt romantic drama for young adults. The show, which is based on the same-titled novel by Jennifer Iacopelli, centers on two sisters attempting to preserve their family's skating heritage following the passing of their mother.

Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys), whose father is having financial difficulties, chooses to team up with the gifted but arrogant Brayden Elliot (Cale Ambrozic) in the hopes that their sparkling connection on ice will lead them to success. Although Adriana has unresolved feelings for her old skating partner, Freddie O'Connell (Olly Atkins), she and Brayden pretend to be in love to up the stakes.

These recommendations should be enough to fill the void that Vladimir’s sharp and provocative take on desire has left. All these have something in common with Weisz’s show but are at the same time unique in their own way.
