The news was earlier shared on the official One Piece YouTube channel, and later Toei Animation confirmed it. This will be the biggest change in the next year as fans will no longer get weekly episodes. However, this gap will also help Toei Animation to offer better quality and storytelling in the episodes. 

Toei Animation revealed that they will drop 26 episodes per year in 2026. And the next arc will be released in two parts, making One Piece a seasonal anime. Now, this is quite familiar to the anime series of the modern day.

But before the next arc, the anime will take a brief break. So, when will Toei Animation drop the next chapter?

After the Egghead arc wraps up, the anime will head to introduce the long-awaited Elbaf arc. This arc is expected to arrive in April 2026. The good news is that the fans will only have to wait for 4 months before they get to watch the new episodes. 

The next arc will follow Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates to the mysterious Elbaf Island. Many are already aware that the Elbaf island was mentioned for the first time in the Little Garden arc. Since then, fans have waited for more than 20 years to finally experience the crew’s adventures on this island.

Moreover, the arc also promises to reveal more secrets. While there will be several changes in the new season, including the format, the anticipation is also higher than ever for both the last episode of the Egghead arc and the release of the Elbaf Island arc.
