There was another rule break in the ceremony, as Prince William named his younger brother Prince Harry as his best man. Before the wedding in 2011, no royal prince ever named a best man. Prince Harry also awarded his brother with the same honor at his wedding in 2018. Meanwhile, there are also rumors that Princess Catherine defied a major royal protocol at her wedding to look more fashionable. Is there any truth to the news?
Kate Middleton was given strict instructions regarding her hairstyle
For her wedding that took place over a decade ago, Kate Middleton looked mesmerizing in an Alexander McQueen white lace gown. The Princess complemented the elegant dress with a half-up, half-down hairstyle. To nail her look on her big day, the now Princess of Wales ignored a major instruction given to her by the royal members. In the documentary William & Kate: The Journey, Ashley Pearson revealed that Middleton was strictly advised to wear her hair up. However, the Princess did not want to replicate Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana, as she loved the hair open with curls.

Kate Middleton did not bend to the demands of the royal family as she sported a half-up half-down hairdo for the grand ceremony. “Kate had her heart set on wearing her hair down with long flowing curls. This is her favorite way to wear it and actually William’s favorite as well,” the royal writer added.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle did not follow in the footsteps of her sister-in-law. She opted for a sleek bun with a center parting during her wedding to Prince Harry. The ceremony took place on May 2018 at the St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
