The four seasons of Stranger Things have been one heck of a ride. As the show moves towards its finale, there is also a void among fans' hearts for the characters they have lost. One of the popular characters, who came and left in the same season but had a huge impact on fans, was Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn. The Stranger Things fandom is hungry for more of the Hellfire Club’s leader, which is why they have been combing through every nook and cranny for clues about Quinn’s character making a comeback for the ultimate showdown.

Eddie Munson stood out as one of the best-written characters because of the growth he underwent in just one season. As the demand for the character’s return grows, Joseph Quinn decided to torture fans with more teasing. Quinn, on Saturday, made a pit-stop in Flanders Expo Ghent, Belgium, for the FACTS Convention. When asked by a fan if he was coming back for Stranger Things 5, the actor cheekily responded by saying, "I do know......but I'm not telling you.”

Eddie Munson bravely sacrificed himself to safeguard Hawkins in season four. It was a moment of great emotional intensity and one of the most powerful moments of the season. Since season four ended, fans have been throwing around the idea of him making a comeback as "undead" in the final season. But, with him already tied down with another franchise, the chances of him making a return to Stranger Things are about as slim as a stick.

As filming for Stranger Things season 5 progresses, Joseph Quinn has already signed on to star in Fantastic Four, which is expected to begin production soon for its scheduled July 25, 2025 release. Understandably, Quinn would prioritize Marvel over his previous series as this could be a career-defining moment for him in Hollywood, potentially opening doors for the actor to lead more films. However, the primary reason Eddie may not return for Stranger Things season 5 is his heroic sacrifice in the fourth season finale.

His departure from the show was nothing short of legendary and the impromptu heavy metal concert to divert the demobats' attention away from his friends just made it even more iconic. However, there is still a chance the actor could make a cameo, as seen in the fourth season when dead characters like Dacre Montgomery's Billy Hargrove appeared via Vecna. Even if Quinn is preoccupied with playing a superhero, Eddie's selfless act will echo through the upcoming season, whether he makes a return or not.
