The post-war Peaky Blinders verse will have a dramatically transformed setting, where survival and ambition will be shaped by a city rising from devastation. According to the official synopsis, the two new six-part, hour-long seasons will follow Birmingham as it emerges from the ashes of the Birmingham Blitz, with the Shelby family navigating a world filled with both opportunity and danger.

Envisioned by creator Steven Knight, the race to rebuild the city becomes a brutal and high-stakes struggle, described as a “brutal contest of mythical dimensions”, placing the Shelbys at the center of power, ambition, and survival.

Production is already in full swing, with filming kicking off in Stoke-on-Trent under the working title Peaky 1954. Led by Kudos, known for projects like This Town and SAS Rogue Heroes, the production team has been carefully recreating the post-war atmosphere.

Filming has taken place at the historic Queen’s Theatre in Burslem and on Jenkins Street, both transformed with period-accurate details, while additional shoots are expected at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham ground the series in authentic and atmospheric locations.
