Ryujin to make her Netflix debut

According to What’s on Netflix, ITZY’s Ryujin will star in her first leading role in Netflix’s K-drama film Shaving (WT), with filming already underway. She is set to share the screen with accomplished actress Roh Jeong Eui and Japanese actor Kasamatsu Shô.
The film, a Netflix Original directed by Kim Jung Hoon, who is popular from The Pirate 2: The Last Royal Treasure, is now in production, though Netflix has yet to announce a release date. The plot details remain under wraps for now as well.
The cast of Shaving (WT) includes three main actors: Roh Jeong Eui, Shin Ryu Jin (Ryujin), and Kasamatsu Shô. Roh Jeong Eui is no stranger to Netflix audiences, having led roles in internationally licensed dramas like Our Beloved Summer, as well as action-thriller Badland Hunters and romance thriller Hierarchy. Kasamatsu Shô’s role in Shaving (WT) marks his first lead on a Netflix project after supporting turns in The Naked Director and Follower.

A look at Ryujin’s success as an idol
This Netflix role becomes Ryujin’s second major movie project after Night on Earth, where she plays Kang, a staff member at an illegal clinic, and importantly, her first official Netflix debut. As a K-pop idol, Ryujin debuted with JYP Entertainment’s girl group ITZY in February 2019. Known for her roles as main rapper, lead dancer, sub-vocalist, and center, she quickly became a standout member thanks to her stage presence and versatility.

ITZY itself has become one of K-pop’s defining fourth-generation acts, known for hits like 'Dalla Dalla', 'Wannabe', and 'Not Shy', and for a string of awards including multiple Circle Chart Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group’s music blends empowering themes and bold concepts that resonate with fans worldwide. Their 11th EP 'Tunnel Vision explores self-confidence and focus, and further solidifies their evolving artistic identity.
