At this point, there is no official confirmation of Season 3 for Netflix's Missing: Dead or Alive. The streaming service only lists the first two seasons, with the second one having been released on November 24, 2025. Netflix and the producers have not yet made an official renewal announcement nor indicated plans so far. The Netflix series currently features cases from Seasons 1 and 2. 

The story of Season 1, which began in May 2023, introduced the audience to the Missing Persons Bureau of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina. The series bases each of its episodes on real disappearances and investigations. Season 1 dealt with four different tragedies, which attracted a lot of media attention, while Season 2 continues through the new and often terrifying cases, such as the murder of Morgan Duncan.

Its second season revolves around the hardworking policemen of the Richland County Missing Persons Unit who are in a race against time to solve the recent missing persons cases and suspicions of murder. The new season is rife with emotional stories, deeper digging into police tribulations, and disturbing personal impacts on the families concerned in four episodes.

With an uncut documentary style, interviews with the police and families of the victims, and a time-sensitive pace, it unravels the murder of Morgan Duncan, a 27-year-old schizophrenic father of two who disappeared from his apartment. With the suspect drug dealer Eric Green at large, the series digs deep into what motivated the murder of Duncan, as well as the disappearance of other women. Though Season 3 has not been announced, Missing: Dead or Alive still makes a conclusive true crime docuseries suitable for a late-night binge.
