The horrific events of September 11, 2001, that shook the entire nation and people across the globe are difficult to revisit. It was one of the darkest days in history. Several films, shows, and documentaries have explored the devastating events, their aftermath, and the fear and pain that followed.

One such documentary that explored the events from a different perspective is the 2002 film 9/11 Documentary. Featuring rare images from the tragedy, the film still carries the pain and horror of that day. But is the 9/11 documentary available to watch on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the film 9/11 is not available to watch on Netflix. The DVD version of the documentary can be purchased through Amazon. The film originally premiered on CBS on March 10, 2002.

Brothers Jules and Gédéon Naudet and FDNY firefighter James Hanlon directed the film. It follows the Naudet brothers as they film a probationary firefighter's first experiences in New York after they acquired permission to film. However, the film caught one of the most horrifying events in history.

The documentary showed some raw, real, and heartbreaking footage of the day, including the moment two planes were flown into the World Trade Center. It caused massive destruction and the death of thousands of people. While the documentary is not available on Netflix, the streaming giant does have Turning Point: Generation 9/11, which looks back at how the attacks shaped an entire generation.

Netflix has also released several different true crime documentaries in 2026, including one of the shocking series, A Toxic Love Story.

A Toxic Love Story is a true-crime documentary on Netflix that follows a bizarre case involving stalking, revenge, scandals, and harassment. The documentary focuses on former US marshal, Ian and his wife, Angela Diaz, who began receiving a series of disturbing and bizarre emails. They later accused Ian’s ex-fiancée, Michelle Hadley, of being behind the messages and emails. 

The case even led to Michelle Hadley spending 88 days behind bars. However, the truth was not what it initially appeared to be in the documentary. A police investigation eventually revealed the shocking reality behind the events and who the real victim was in the situation, turning the case in an unexpected direction. The bizarre circumstances, investigation, and revelations make the documentary worth watching. A Toxic Love Story is currently streaming on Netflix.
