A mirror is supposed to show you exactly what stands in front of it. But what happens when the reflection starts behaving like something is watching you from the other side? Edward Boase’s The Mirror turns an ordinary antique purchase into an unsettling exercise in paranoia, with strange occurrences, surveillance cameras, and three flatmates trying to establish whether their new possession is hiding something sinister. For fans of found-footage horror, it has the kind of premise that makes even an empty room feel suspicious.

Of course, discovering a creepy little horror film is only half the experience. The other challenge is finding the right streaming platform, especially when Netflix viewers are hoping to add another psychological nightmare to their watchlist.

Unfortunately, The Mirror is not currently available to stream on Netflix. However, viewers in the US can watch the 2014 horror film for free with ads on Tubi TV, Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, and Cineverse. These options make it easier to catch the film without committing to another paid streaming subscription. Availability can vary by country, so international viewers should check their local catalogues before settling in for a screening.

Directed and written by Edward Boase, the 88-minute British horror film stars Jemma Dallender, Joshua Dickinson, and Nate Fallows. Its premise follows three flatmates who purchase a supposedly haunted antique mirror on eBay. Hoping to prove that paranormal activity exists and win a million-dollar prize offered by the James Randi Foundation, they install round-the-clock cameras to document whatever happens around their unusual purchase.

The film may not have received overwhelming audience approval, but its premise has the ingredients of a classic late-night horror experiment. According to IMDb, The Mirror holds a rating of 4.4/10 from approximately 1,500 ratings.
