Is ‘I Swear’ Available on Netflix? Where and How Can You Stream the 2026 BAFTA Winner Online?

I Swear is a British biographical movie that feels more like a tribute to the man who taught Britain about Tourette’s syndrome. While many people know about the condition, not many have seen the real struggle with tics and compulsive behaviour patterns. And this movie dares to take people on a journey of resilience, compassion, and courage, beautifully brought to life by Robert Aramayo, who played the role of a man with Tourette’s syndrome.

Now, after swooning audiences in the UK and taking home the BAFTA from a crowd of well known fishes, is Robert Aramayo's I Swear arriving on Netflix in the USA?

Unfortunately, I Swear, starring Robert Aramayo, is not yet available to stream on Netflix in the USA. However, it is expected to arrive this year, both for a theatrical experience and later on streaming platforms. The film is set to premiere in U.S. theatres on April 24, 2026, as scheduled by Sony Pictures Classics.

Moreover, regarding its streaming release, the movie is anticipated to become available on Netflix USA soon after its theatrical run is over, as per the Sony Pictures Classics deal. It is set to arrive in the latter half of 2026, possibly around November or December. This means fans will have to wait a while longer to watch Aramayo portraying the real-life activist John Davidson.

Aramayo’s brilliant and moving performance was paired with an equally legendary performance by Shirley Henderson, Peter Mullen, and Maxine Peake.  While this one touched the star, I Swear is not the only cinema that has touched the star in question, with BBC already having made John's Not Mad in 1989.

While the moment I Swear grabbed the BAFTA is available to stream, a similar moment is not likely to unfold at the Oscar Awards 2026 for this one reason.

I Swear is not nominated for Oscars just yet

Robert Aramayo beat names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet to win the Best Actor award at the BAFTA for his performance in I Swear. But that will not happen at the Academy Awards this year. The reason is that the film will receive its theatrical release in the USA in 2026, making it eligible for nominations only next year.

Sony Pictures Classics, which acquired I Swear after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in October 2025, held the film for a 2026 release. However, there is a strong case for the movie to make an impact at the Academy Awards next year and perhaps secure a few major wins as well.
