The first television series was released in 2003. It was an instant hit among

Elric. The Elric brothers deal with a lot of adventures and chaos while
searching for the philosopher’s stone to heal their damaged bodies. 


HOW THE SERIES RELEASED IN 2003 IS DIFFERENT FROM THE 2009 SHOW?

The next anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, hit the television
screens on 2009. Notably, it was another adaptation of the Manga series. It
managed to stand out due to its similarities with the Manga novel. The writers
didn’t experiment much with the characters and decided to go with the vision of
the comic author, Hiromu Arakawa.



Coming to the movies, the first Fullmetal Alchemist movie was released in 2017.
Directed by Fumihiko Sori, the movie was another take on the Manga series. Its
sequel, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar has been released in 2022. The
second movie highlights another rival of the Elric brothers, Scar.
