Although Netflix has an interesting lineup of documentaries, Shiny Happy People - Duggar Family Secrets is not available to stream on the platform. The series had earlier premiered on Amazon Prime on June 2, 2023, and it is now available to stream on Prime. The series follows the controversies around the family, their eldest son, Josh Duggar, and their link with the organisation, Institute for Basic Life Principles. 

Directed by Olivia Crist and Julia Willoughby Nason, the series has four episodes featuring interviews and footage. With each episode nearly 45 minutes long, the series gives a detailed look into the family. As for the Shiny Happy People, the series returned for a second season in 2025, focusing on Ron Luce's Teen Mania.

It had even reached the top 5 in Netflix’s global TV shows ranking, according to FlixPatrol. The series follows three friends who realize that someone they trust deeply is not who he appears to be. 

Soon, they discover that their close friend is a convicted murderer and kidnapper. Based on a true story set in a rural Danish town, the 3-part crime docuseries explores his crimes while also showing the emotional impact of his betrayal on those closest to him. For those intrigued by Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, this docuseries could very well be the next addition to the watchlist.
