Netflix is the streaming home of some of the best sports documentaries, which raises the question of whether it has the newest sports documentary, Chris & Martina: The Final Set. It brings attention to Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, two of the greatest players in tennis history. While several documentaries and series have explored their individual careers, this latest feature focuses on the unique bond they shared and how their relationship evolved through years of intense competition and mutual respect. 

So, has this new sports documentary also landed on Netflix?

Chris & Martina: The Final Set is now available to watch on Netflix. The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on June 10, 2026. Directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Rebecca Gitlitz, the film has a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes.

The documentary explores the friendship and fierce rivalry between two of tennis' greatest icons, Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, during the 1970s and 1980s. Their relationship began as a friendship when Evert dominated their early encounters, winning nine of their first 10 matches. However, as Navratilova soon caught up with Evert, leading to the most intense rivalry between the two.

Despite their fierce on-court battles, their friendship remained strong. And after their respective cancer diagnoses, their connection grew even stronger as they supported one another through shared struggles and personal sacrifices. The two spoke about how there is no longer a competition between them.

"Sometimes it takes terrible things to happen for you to realize how you really feel about things," Evert said in the film.

"There’s no competition of whose cancer was worse. We’re in the same boat," Navratilova said. 

The documentary features the pair revisiting some of their most memorable matches. They spoke about their emotions and experiences they felt during those defining moments. It also includes never-before-seen interview footage, which makes the documentary worth watching.

Not just Chris & Martina: The Final Set, there is yet another must-watch sports documentary, RAFA, to watch on Netflix.

Netflix's documentary series RAFA chronicles the life and career of tennis legend Rafael Nadal. It follows him from picking up his first racquet at the age of three to his final professional match in November 2024. The series mostly focused on Nadal's final season, exploring his injuries, retirement decision, fatherhood, and emotional farewell at Roland Garros. 

Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Zachary Heinzerling, the documentary features new interviews with Nadal as well as tennis greats Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and John McEnroe. Produced by Skydance Sports, RAFA has four episodes and presents a behind-the-scenes portrait of one of the greatest athletes in tennis history. The documentary is available to stream on Netflix.
