Animal Kingdom was set to officially leave the Netflix drama roster at the end of November 2025. The first five seasons of the series were supposed to depart Netflix on December 1st, 2025, as a result of the expiration of the licensing agreement. However, the show has now been renewed through 2026, according to What's on Netflix.
The show’s initially planned departure, before the renewal, aligned with the platform’s typical schedule for expiring third-party content. December always ushers in a wave of removals as Netflix rotates its licensed library, and this year is no exception. Among big television departures, How I Met Your Mother is a notable exit. Subscribers are usually notified roughly 30 days in advance, which aligns with the recent notices and updates seen both on Netflix’s interface and official news sources.
Amidst the chaos coming with the streaming let down, it is only fair for watchers to have their own backup safe-streamers.
Where to flee after Animal Kingdom's if Netflix ever removes it
For fans nervous about unfinished storylines, there is a silver lining. While Animal Kingdom is set to leave Netflix, it remains available on other platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV in the United States. There is currently no announcement regarding a new exclusive streaming deal or a permanent removal from all major services. Thus, those who want to catch up with the Codys outside of Netflix will likely have alternative streaming options, at least for the foreseeable future.
