WHAT’S IN A NAME?

The American actress first came into the limelight after receiving a major role
in Center Stage. However, it was only after the subsequent release of films like
Crossroads, Drumline, and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
that made Saldana a recognizable face.

Her first major studio role was in JJ Abrams’s Star Trek, in which she played
Uhura. Later, she was the main female lead in James Cameron’s highest-grossing
film Avatar.

The Adam Project. The actress spoke about her initial days in the industry. And

Zoe said, “When I did [2000 film] ‘Center Stage,’ I remember being discouraged
by my management at that time to use my name,”
