The length of WWE Raw on Netflix is intentionally flexible and does not have a fixed time limit, which marks a significant departure from its television history. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque (Triple H) confirmed on the SI Media Podcast that, much like other episodic shows on a streaming service, the runtime can fluctuate depending on the needs of the narrative. This means that if a main event or a major storyline requires more time to conclude properly, the show can run longer without being abruptly cut off.

In the past, when the program aired on traditional television, it consistently ran for a fixed three hours, a runtime that many critics and fans felt led to overly long segments or rushed endings. While the new format allows for variability, WWE management has suggested that the show will generally aim for a runtime of approximately two and a half hours (Monday at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET), with the added benefit of eliminating rigid time constraints that used to impact live storytelling, as per the SI Media Podcast.

Key details about the WWE and Netflix collaboration

As per Netflix Tudum, the WWE and Netflix partnership establishes a new era for professional wrestling fandom, with the much-anticipated debut of live weekly programming running 52 weeks a year. Netflix is now the exclusive home of WWE’s flagship weekly wrestling program in major territories, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America, among other regions being added sequentially. This change is a momentous occasion, marking the first time in the show’s 31-year history that WWE Raw is available to stream in this capacity.

In addition to securing the flagship show, the massive partnership means Netflix will also be the destination for WWE’s other thrilling content outside of the United States. This includes other weekly programs such as SmackDown and NXT, and crucially, it will feature all of WWE’s major Premium Live Events. This catalogue includes the biggest annual shows, such as WrestleMania, Backlash, and SummerSlam.
