In 2022, Doug Cockle attended the MCM Comic Con London 2022 featuring voice
talents. During the conversation, he recalled the time when he auditioned for
Geralt’s role. The American star revealed he did not do much research or know
about the character. However, one team member helped him understand the
character and coached him. “In the end, it was him saying to me think of him as
a medieval fantasy dirty hairy,” he added.



The coach told him to imagine what a fierce and lonely wolf would sound like. So
when the actor took that image in his mind, he came up with a raspy voice for
the character. But it took him a lot of time to find perfection, admitted the
53-year-old because the creators wanted him to go lower when they started
recording. According to Cockle, fans can witness this transformation in his tone
