Henry Cavill Wanted to Explore His On Screen Relationship With This ‘The Witcher’ Character, And No It Is Not Ciri or Yennefer

Ever since Henry Cavill [http://netflixjunlie.com/tag/henry-cavill/] reinvented
himself as the white-haired, muscle-pumped monster-hunting mutant, AKA Geralt of
Rivia, his fans and co-workers have been in awe of his capabilities. So much so
that they tend to identify the Netflix show, The Witcher analogous to his name.
However, now it seems like all of it was perhaps in vain as the book nerd rode
down his pedestal and Liam Hemsworth will now be the ultimate Elven Swordbearer.
But had Cavill a little more time on the show, he would want to explore his
relationship with Nenneke.

As soon as fans got to know about the British actor’s exit from the show, they
apparently dug down every interview, every podcast, and the media chats that can
provide a substantial reason to map his decision on. The conclusion hence
derived was the show’s obvious drift from the books. And we have found yet
another interview, wherein the former Superman not only talks about his love for
books but also said, “To be true to the books, I think there is a chance to
explore the Nenneke relationship.”

The Netflix Geeked host asked him about the character with whom he would want to
explore Geralt’s relationship back in 2019. Cavill initially found “tricky” to
answer but then talked about the potential the arc of his and Nenneke’s
relationship may have. The 39-year-old also said he would like to have more
screen time with the other witchers as well, but not at the cost of the source
material. He apparently did not want “side things” to “muddy the water.”

However, the clock has stopped ticking for Cavill in that universe, and we do
not know if any of his wishes will ever come true going forward. But what was
the relationship he so wanted to explore within The Witcher universe?

HERE’S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HENRY CAVILL AND NENNEKE’S RELATIONSHIP
IN THE WITCHER

While Cavill’s statements back in 2019 implied that we can have more of Geralt
and Nenneke’s relationship in his very last season, and the third season of The
Witcher lore. In books, the monster butchered goes to the temple to seek help;
In the series, however, it is not until season 2 that we meet her persona. She
still remains a motherly figure to Geralt, but we get to know about their
history through an omniscient narrator.

In the second season, Geralt takes Ciri to her temple to understand her truth,
and fans then get to explore her character. In season 1, though, her role was
perhaps replaced by Triss Merigold as she treated Cavill’s Geralt from the
Striga’s wounds. Nonetheless, we must tell you, she is not the one to trifle
with and her magic is that of the highest order.
