Henry Cavill and Kevin Hart are officially joining forces for Netflix's next big spy action comedy, and it is the kind of casting combination that will stop even the most seasoned streaming watcher mid-scroll. Cavill arrives fresh from Guy Ritchie's In the Grey, while Hart continues riding the momentum of his recent Netflix roast spectacle, creating an intriguing collision of two very different screen personas.

According to Deadline, Henry Cavill has signed on to star opposite Kevin Hart in an untitled spy action comedy directed by McG for Netflix. Based on a short story by Sean Lewis, the film follows two rival spies whose lives become entangled after they meet in a Lamaze class. When their wives become close friends, their carefully guarded double lives begin colliding in increasingly dangerous and comedic ways, forcing the rivals into an unlikely partnership.

The project brings together an impressive creative team. The screenplay comes from Adam Nee, Aaron Nee, and Jonathan Tropper, while producers include Shawn Levy and Dan Levine for 21 Laps, Ryan Reynolds and Maximum Effort, and Hart's own Hartbeat banner. "That'd be like spray painting the Sistine Chapel," Hart joked. "If I found out that Oprah said she wanted to do it, I am driving 100 miles per hour to Oprah's house. You cannot do this. No shot."

The comment carried extra weight given Oprah Winfrey's enduring cultural stature. The media mogul recently appeared on Forbes' list of America's richest self-made women, at no. 16 with an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion. The 2026 list was released on June 3, 2026.
