Freya Allan once broke her silence on the controversial changes made to The Witcher on small screen, straying from source material.

The Witcher [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/the-witcher/] took the attention of
fans two months back with its third installment. It marked the last time when
Henry Cavill [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/henry-cavill/] took the medallion of
the iconic character Geralt. But this farewell stirred controversy over the
internet enraging fans who loved his portrayal. People demanded to bring him
back and they will not watch the show anymore. According to them, he is the only
man who has the knowledge, face, and skills to justify this mutant.

Sadly, despite all that rage and protest, the creators have not changed their
decision and will continue with the new Geralt. Meanwhile, long before these
sudden turns of events, Freya Allan opened up about changes from the source
material.

FREYA ALLAN GAVE THE PERFECT ANSWER ABOUT THE CHANGES MADE TO THE ADAPTATION

Back in 2019, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra sat down with Collider to talk about
their roles
[https://collider.com/witcher-cast-interview-anya-chalotra-freya-allan/] in The
Witcher. During the interview, they were asked to explain the fantasy
adaptation, so people do not hesitate before watching it. To this, the young
actress who portrayed the role of Ciri stated that they have changed many things
in the series. It had many instances and characters that people might have never
come across before.

So it was an unfamiliar experience for everyone, including them, said the
22-year-old. She also addressed people who have read the source material and
gave them a heads-up for some differences. The English actress saw this change
from a unique spectacle and felt that the Netflix drama was something that all
kinds of people could watch.

According to her, the show’s purpose was to let people revel in the magical
world of mages and witchers. However, these words from the actress did not seem
to affect people, and they continued to blame creators for straying

from the origin. This backlash grew so much that the producer of the show had to
come forward recently to explain things.

THE WITCHER PRODUCER SPILLED THE REAL REASON BEHIND CONTROVERSIAL CHANGES

About two months back, Tomasz Bagiński spoke with Wyborcza about the Netflix
series. In this interview, the executive producer touched on the controversies
about changes from the source material. He defended their work stating that the
team has tried their best to adapt this massive saga. But they had to make
changes because of the viewers who come from different corners of the world.

The 47-year-old said that the origin story is quite complex for people who have
not read books. So they simplified things for fans who got to know about this
world for the first time through their series. They did it to attract the
attention of a larger audience instead of the only people who know the books.
