'Found' TV Series’ Netflix Success Sparks Hopes for Season Three Amid Cancellation

Netflix has a history of axing some of the fan-favorite shows, leaving viewers hanging on shocking cliffhangers, such as Archive 81. But the streaming platform is also home to second chances. Manifest, Arrested Development, Lucifer, You, and more such shows are shining examples of how Netflix revived projects after their original networks dropped them.

Can Netflix once again play savior with the show, Found, which was recently canceled by NBC after its second season? Netflix just acquired the first two seasons, and with newfound success, there is much hope that the show could be revived for another season.

Found is a missing-persons drama that was canceled by NBC after its second season, which ended on a cliffhanger in May 2025. Both seasons, which feature 35 episodes, dropped on Netflix on January 2. And shortly after its release on the platform, the show climbed to the seventh position on the US Top 10 list.

If the series manages to replicate the success of shows like Manifest and others, there is still hope for a revival. Moreover, Found is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions, both of which have recently strengthened their relationship with Netflix. If this collaboration is any indication, the show could potentially return for a long-awaited Season 3.

Starring Shanola Hampton as Gabi Mosely alongside Mark-Paul Gosselaar, the series originally aired on NBC and streamed exclusively on Peacock. The story follows Gabi Mosely, who is a public relations specialist and crisis manager, and her team as they work to locate missing people who are often neglected by authorities and the media.

However, Gabi Mosely, herself a former kidnapping victim, has also tracked down her former abductor and is secretly holding him captive in her basement. This mystery, along with other cases, most of which are successfully solved, has clearly impressed the viewers, helping the show secure a spot in the Top 10.

Since the show is quite popular among fans, it was surprising that NBC canceled the show. However, it seems that the network had to cut off the show for another offer.

Found’s arrival on Netflix hints at season 3

NBC axed Found after Season 2 due to slipping ratings. Despite fans’ requests across social media, the show was officially announced as canceled in July 2025. It was later offered to several streamers before finally finding a home on Netflix.

Interestingly, Found was not the only series to get axed. There were more shows, and this cancellation may also be tied to NBC scaling back scripted shows to accommodate a major and expensive NBA broadcast deal.

NBC signed a $2.5 billion-per-year agreement with the NBA, and under this deal, the network is committing roughly 180 hours of primetime to basketball. Found may have gotten canceled alongside several other NBC shows, including The Irrational, Night Court, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Suits LA.

Found impressed viewers during its run on NBC and is now doing the same after arriving on Netflix. If it continues to perform well, the streamer might give the series a second chance. Until then, fans can binge-watch the first two seasons and patiently wait to see whether Season 3 receives the green light.
