'Fool Me Once' on Netflix: Meet the Cast of Harlan Coben’s Thriller

Two deaths and several unanswered questions turn up the temperature and tension in Harlan Coben's thriller Fool Me Once. The series is one of the murder mystery thrillers developed as part of the author's deal with the streaming platform. And writer Danny Brocklehurst, who previously collaborated with Coben on shows such as Stay Close, also took the reins for this adaptation.

BAFTA Award-winning director David Moore also brought a star-studded cast bwho showed an impressive performance to recreate the same tension as it is in the book. So it is worth knowing the actors who played the complex and layered characters in the thriller show.

Michelle Keegan as Maya Stern: Keegan is well known for her role as Georgie Lane in the BBC military drama, Our Girl. She later appeared in Ten Pound Poms and more such shows.

Richard Armitage as Joe Burkett: Armitage is an actor and author. He has previously appeared in other Harlan Coben shows, such as The Stranger and Stay Close. He also appears as Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's film trilogy adaptation of The Hobbit.

Adeel Akhtar as Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce: Akhtar is an award-winning actor who won the BAFTA for his role in Murdered by My Father. He also starred in Sweet Tooth and Ali & Ava.

Joanna Lumley as Judith Burkett: Lumley is an actress, activist, and former model. She received the BAFTA Fellowship in 2017, the academy's highest honor, and also won a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway revival of La Bête.

Marcus Garvey as Eddie Walker: Garvey is well known for his roles in Hijack and The Gold. He also worked in Viewpoint and The Lodge. 

Emmett J. Scanlan as Shane Tessier: The Irish actor is well known for roles in Peaky Blinders, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. 

Dino Fetscher: Fetscher has previously worked in Banana, Paranoid, Years and Years, and Foundation.

While a stellar cast draws viewers in, it is Harlan Coben’s impressive writing and the unexpected mysteries in the Netflix adaptations that keep the viewers hooked till the very end.

What is Fool Me Once about?

Fool Me Once follows Maya Stern as she struggles to cope with the murder of her husband, Joe. However, her world is turned upside down when a nanny cam appears to show Joe alive and playing with their young daughter. While Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce investigates the case, Maya finds long-buried secrets involving her family and her powerful mother-in-law.

But the search for answers also raises questions about whether Joe's death is connected to the murder of Maya's sister, Claire. The series spans eight episodes and is a roller coaster of secrets and scandals, and it is already streaming on Netflix. So, fans of Harlan Coben's Netflix adaptations and mystery thrillers will find plenty to keep them busy until the final episode.
