Taking a step beyond the fictitious and the real, Madelyn Keys, in pursuit of Finding Her Edge, has come face to face with the very facts, the Glitter & Gold, whose lived truths anchored the Netflix series in reality.

Finding Her Edge seems to have given Madelyn Keys a once-in-a-lifetime ticket, one she is filled with joy, and some promotional crossover for. 

Episode 5 of the Netflix teen-drama sensation, Finding Her Edge, brought delight on screen in the form of a cameo by Canadian ice-skating star pair, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. On cue, Madelyn Keys has paid tribute to this very instance, taking to Instagram to declare being overjoyed to work with the legends whose world she lived in for 8 episodes. 

“It was such a joy to work with The Piper and Paul,” Keys wrote in the caption, expressing an admiration for the pair. 

She went on to translate her happiness into a quick and clever shout-out to the Netflix documentary series on which the ice-skating team themselves appear, Glitter and Gold: Ice Dancing. “Craving more skating?? You can watch them in Glitter and Gold on Netflix now,” the actress added.

The gentle meeting of fiction and non-fiction is at least one of the edges that keeps the audience hanging, and the rest, in Netflix’s adaptation. 

Premiering on January 22, 2026, Finding Her Edge’s 8-part show is, in fact, an adaptation of Jennifer Iacopelli’s 2022 book of the same name. While the novel originally advertises as a swoon-worthy romantic tryst, the Netflix adaptation’s helmers have instilled layers beyond romance into the show. 

“I set out to make it much more than that; a layered family drama about a fractured family finding their path back together,” said showrunner Jeff Norton as per Netflix Tudum. Adriana, portrayed by Madelyn Keys, not only reunites with her long-lost first love but also confronts significant familial and material losses, leading her to turn back towards ice-skating. 

Finding Her Edge has united Madelyn Keys with ice-skating legends, on the other hand. Fresh off the rink, Keys has acquainted herself well with the tricks of the entertainment world, merging the Finding Her Edge and Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing together in a sly shout-out.
