All the Ice Age movies, including Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Ice Age: Collision Course, will be available to stream on Netflix on October 4, 2026. Other movies arriving on Netflix are Soul, Elio, Raya and the Last Dragon. These three movies will be available in early 2027.
As per Variety, the deal will also include a few non-franchised Disney-branded films from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar. An interesting aspect of the deal for Disney, however, is the addition of ongoing shows, which could help garner more attention for their upcoming releases. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Seasons 1–2 will arrive on Netflix just ahead of Season 3’s release on Disney+ on November 20. While there is no certainty, it could be a great strategy for Disney, potentially introducing the series to a wider audience before the new season premieres.
While Netflix has secured an interesting deal, the streaming giant is also set to lose its partnership with a legendary director.
David Fincher is set to leave Netflix
David Fincher and Netflix have collaborated several times, with the director helming episodes of House of Cards, Mindhunter, Love, Death & Robots, and other shows. In 2020, the two entered into an exclusive deal. However, with the agreement set to expire in 2027, Fincher has decided not to renew it, as per Bloomberg.

During his deal with the streaming giant, the director made three notable films, Mank, The K*****, and the upcoming The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Since Fincher has yet to sign another deal, he could still return to Netflix for future projects. His departure is a notable change for Netflix. Now, as for the new Disney licensing deal, itwill likely strengthen its content lineup.
