Fans of mystery and adventure are buzzing as young detective Enola Holmes gears up for another thrilling ride. After two successful films focusing on the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ clever and equally talented younger sister, Enola Holmes 3 promises even more challenges and suspense. The film will return with Millie Bobby Brown playing the wise and fearless detective Enola Holmes.

With the cast last spotted filming in Malta, when will the much-anticipated sequel arrive on Netflix?

The third installment of Enola Holmes, based on Nancy Springer’s book series, will see Millie Bobby Brown return as the young detective as she takes on another mystery case and adventure. Cast members, including Louis Partridge (Lord Tewkesbury), Millie Bobby Brown, and Helena Bonham Carter (Enola Holmes’ mother), were spotted filming in Malta. 

In July, Millie Bobby Brown shared photos from the Malta shoot and confirmed that production had wrapped. However, there is still no official release date for the film just yet. That said, with production wrapped, the odds are that the movie might be expected to be released this year. 

However, the wait for the third installment has become understandably painful after the ending of Enola Holmes 2, which showed the release of Sherlock Holmes’ infamous foe.

This cliffhanger has raised questions about what mysteries the young detective could be juggling in Enola Holmes 3.

Enola Holmes, played by Millie Bobby Brown, solved every mystery in the second installment, but the sequel ended with a tease of what could come next. The final scene showed Moriarty escaping from prison, and that could hint at a bigger conflict ahead.

This also opens the door for Enola Holmes to reunite with her brother, Sherlock Holmes, or face new threats altogether. The second film also introduced Dr. John Watson, who could return in a third installment. Enola Holmes’ brother, Mycroft Holmes, absent from the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, may also reappear.

So the expectations are higher than ever, and since the films do not strictly follow the novels, the next chapter remains unpredictable even for the most dedicated fans. Whether Enola Holmes 3, directed by Philip Barantini, can replicate the same intrigue and success as the first two films remains to be seen.
