Aria Mia Loberti, with the brilliant actor Mark Ruffalo in the Netflix

Loberti’s character, Marie-Laure LeBlanc, in the 4-part series, is partially
blind. With the help of the Free Guy director, she got the hang of acting.
However, Joe Strechay, a Netflix consultant, also deserves credit alongside the
55-year-old director. As CBS Sunday Morning highlighted, Strechay is an
associate producer and a consultant at Netflix. While Loberti used her
experiences as a bridge to her character, it was Strechay who helped her do it
as accurately as possible.



Joe Strechay lost his eyesight completely at the young age of 19. He ensures
that they capture the portrayal of the visually impaired with utmost accuracy
and sensitive honesty, guided by his special connection. Speaking to the
reporting house, Strechay said he suggested one scene where the character
interacting with Marie would just nod to say yes. However, because of her low
vision, she could not see that. So, they would have to respond to let her know.
