Once upon a time, Princess Kaguya came from the moon. In 2026, she arrives on Netflix, with neon visuals, pop anthems, and a virtual world that feels tailor-made for the streaming generation. Cosmic Princess Kaguya! takes one of Japan’s oldest legends and flips it into an animated musical built for late-night binge culture. At the center of Cosmic Princess Kaguya! is Yūko Natsuyoshi, voicing the titular Kaguya. Natsuyoshi’s growing resume includes standout roles like Sasha Necron in The Misfit of Demon King Academy and Tsubaki in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, making her a rising star in anime voice work. 

Opposite her is Anna Nagase, who gives voice to Iroha Sakayori, a driven 17-year-old navigating life, part-time work, and the virtual world of Tsukuyomi. Nagase’s previous credits include Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen and Harley Quinn in Isekai Suicide Squad.

Completing the principal trio is voice actor Saori Hayami as Yachiyo Runami, the charismatic administrator of the virtual world who anchors both story and music. Hayami’s impressive body of work features iconic performances like Yor Forger in Spy x Family and Shinobu Kochou in Demon Slayer, giving the film a blend of star power and seasoned craft. 

The English dub also boasts voices from Jeannie Tirado (Kaguya), Dawn M. Bennett (Iroha), and Ryan Bartley/Frankie Kevich (Yachiyo - English & singing), with additional supporting cast such as Max Mittelman and Casey Mongillo rounding out the global voice lineup.

Drawing from popular folklore, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, and modern streaming culture, the film finds its emotional core through music and connection, elevated by contributions from Vocaloid icons Ryo (supercell) and HoneyWorks.
