Netflix is expanding like space itself - in all directions tirelessly. The streaming mogul has not left an alley or a cul-de-sac of content unexplored. From niche documentaries to kids' content, Netflix wants to make it big in every possible domain, and one of its main focuses seems to be creator-led content. Netflix is actively expanding its platform to include creator-led, short-form content and partnering with top digital talent to compete with YouTube.

The streamer’s latest step in that direction includes the acquisition of God Mythical Morning (GMM).

Netflix is set to welcome Good Mythical Morning to its platform very soon. Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal will present the YouTube variety program, which debuted in 2012 and has since released new episodes each week. Neal and McLaughlin compete in games and challenges, often with a famous guest, testing out bizarre things, and even conducting unexpected taste tests.

As part of a comprehensive agreement between Mythical Entertainment and Netflix, the show will launch episodes on the massive subscription streaming service on the same day as its main YouTube channel. The collaboration will involve Mythical Kitchen and Last Meals, which are run by Mythical chef Josh Scherer, as well as GMM, which releases new episodes every Monday through Friday.

In Last Meals, Scherer interviews famous guests while they eat the meal they would have on their final day on earth, while in Mythical Kitchen, he and his team develop bizarre culinary innovations and take on culinary challenges. Starting on September 7, the shows will be available on Netflix.

The Stokes Twins, who have over 140 million YouTube subscribers, signed a contract with Netflix last week. Unlike Ms. Rachel, Jordan and Salish Matter, or Mark Rober, who repurposed content they already produced and packaged it for Netflix, or the Stokes Twins, who will bring their archive to Netflix, Mythical will be launching its daily episodes on Netflix and YouTube simultaneously.

With over 10 billion views, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal have been presenting and producing Good Mythical Morning for almost 14 years, and they have been vying for an Emmy. Even if the TV Academy has been sluggish to react to YouTube content, a Netflix presence might be the key to getting the show in front of viewers who would take the format seriously. Therefore, an acquisition by the streamer is a win-win situation for both entities involved.
