American director Jon Hurwitz has revealed on X (previously Twitter) that Cobra Kai will begin production right after New Year&#8217;s. Now, the actor is due to join Cobra Kai star Ralph Macchio in the upcoming Karate Kid film, which is set to be released on December 13, 2024.

While Chan has been confirmed for the film, the creators are still looking for a new hero. In order to do this, a global casting search for the new venture has been initiated. According to some sources, the film will be about a young Chinese kid navigating his life on the East Coast. Furthermore, the film promises to introduce a new face to the screen while simultaneously keeping the old enchantment alive for the audience.
