Chris Pratt’s ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Could Beat One of the Legendary Animated Films of All Time for This Accolade

However, the entrance of production houses like Illumination and DreamWorks turned the tables instantly as fans fell in love with films like Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, The Grinch, and now The Super Mario Bros Movie. It looks like the latest release starring Chris Pratt will make history in the world of animated films.

Based on the fan-favorite video game character, The Super Mario Bros. Movie had a blasting opening this week. Released on April 5, the movie instantly captured viewers’ attention, grossing $66.4 million in just the first 24 hours. According to Deadline, it will soon dethrone Frozen 2 from the position of the biggest animated movie opening of all time.

The 2019 release movie scored $358 million in its opening week and as per the crazy numbers The Super Mario Bros. Movie is racking constantly at the box office, it will soon take the crown. Moreover, this action-packed adventure featuring the voice of our Marvel hero Chris Pratt has pulled more than $200 million in five days.

Chris Pratt changed his accent for The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Fans who have already watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie might have noticed that Chris Pratt took the mantle of the iconic Nintendo hero. The actor recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about his voiceover in the movie. During the conversation, he revealed that they tried different things, including Tony Soprano in HBO’s The Sopranos and Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas.

“And then we had to really dig in and figure out, Are they Italian? Are they American? We know a little bit about Charles Martinet’s voice that he’s sprinkled in there with the ‘Wahoo!’ and ‘It’s-a me,'” he told the publication.

They later settled for a warmer voice to create an emotional narrative for the characters.
