Scandinavian crime dramas have never needed much to make a room feel dangerous. A frozen lake, a quiet apartment block, a police radio crackling after midnight, and suddenly the ordinary has acquired the uneasy geometry of a crime scene. Netflix has leaned heavily into that tradition with Swedish titles such as The Breakthrough, The Åre M****** and The Unlikely M*******, alongside Nordic noir imports.

B**** Sacrifice now walks into that lineage with a particularly nasty premise. It is part serial k***** procedural, part damaged-family drama, and very much the kind of Swedish thriller where the people investigating the darkness may have more history with it than they want to admit.

Netflix has assembled a seasoned Swedish ensemble with plenty of Scandinavian crime pedigree.

Jakob Oftebro as Thomas Berg: Oftebro plays Stockholm detective Thomas Berg, the investigator placed at the center of the police killings. He has already spent considerable time in Nordic crime territory through projects including Hamilton and The Burning Sea, making him a natural fit for a detective.

Peter Andersson as Alfred Berg: Andersson takes on Alfred, Thomas’s estranged father and a former detective whose experience becomes valuable once the investigation begins to widen. International audiences may recognize him from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Electra Hallman as Natalie Eklund: Hallman joins the ensemble as Natalie Eklund. Her previous credits include Top Dog and The Playlist, two productions that place her comfortably within Sweden’s contemporary crime and drama scene.

Alexander Abdallah as John-Jo Persson: Abdallah plays John-Jo Persson. He is perhaps best known internationally for Netflix’s Snabba Cash.

Henrik Norlén as Max Abrahamsson: Norlén appears as Max Abrahamsson. His credits include Modus, another Swedish thriller built around police work, murder and institutional secrets.

Lisette T. Pagler as Charlotte Berg: Pagler plays Charlotte Berg, adding another strand to the complicated Berg family network. Her résumé includes The Restaurant and The Bridge.

Magnus Krepper as Peter Johansson: Krepper plays Peter Johansson. The veteran Swedish actor has appeared in productions including The Bridge and The Last Kingdom.

Irina Björklund as Rebecca Björklund: Björklund takes on Rebecca Björklund, bringing another established Nordic performer into the ensemble. Her international credits include The American.

Anders Mossling as Lucas Lind: Mossling plays Lucas Lind. His previous work includes Quicksand and The Restaurant, keeping another familiar Scandinavian television face in the mix.

And then comes the part that turns this from another police procedural into something more intimate.

Someone is hunting the hunters in B**** Sacrifice

The nightmare begins in Stockholm’s archipelago after two police officers are sent to investigate a reported home invasion. The location is eerily quiet, but the officers do not make it back. Their bodies are discovered the following day, and the case quickly reveals a horrifying pattern: someone is deliberately targeting members of the police.

That puts Thomas Berg on a clock, but the investigation also sends him back toward Alfred, the father he has become estranged from. The former detective possesses experience Thomas cannot easily replace, forcing the two men to work together while a k***** systematically turns the police into targets. Created by George Kay, known for Lupin and Hijack, and directed across all five episodes by Kristoffer Nyholm, the series was filmed in Stockholm and the surrounding archipelago, giving its crime story a distinctly Swedish sense of place.

B**** Sacrifice therefore has two mysteries running in parallel: who is k****** the police, and what happened between Thomas and Alfred before the case brought them back together. That combination of procedural tension and family fracture could give Netflix’s latest Swedish thriller a sharper edge than a straightforward whodunit.
