The gavel has fallen on a new legal drama, ...And Justice for All, at Netflix, reviving the legacy of Al Pacino's explosive courtroom meltdown that shook cinema history. In the original 1979 film, Al Pacino delivered a legendary outburst when his idealistic lawyer Arthur Kirkland, fed up with a rigged system, screamed at the judge: "You're out of order! You're out of order! The whole trial is out of order! They are out of order!"
A moment that became one of the most quoted lines in movie history and earned Pacino an Oscar nomination. The film's raw portrayal of a corrupted legal system resonated with audiences, grossing $33.3 million on a $4 million budget and cementing its place as a courtroom classic.
Now, that same fiery justice is barreling toward streaming screens with a modern reimagining.

Al Pacino's 1979 And Justice for All headed to Netflix as TV series
According to a Deadline exclusive, Netflix is developing a gritty TV adaptation of the iconic 1979 courtroom drama ...And Justice for All, positioning it as a potential successor to its legal hit The Lincoln Lawyer. The series is being written by Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn, who aim to reframe the story for a modern audience. At its core, the narrative follows an idealistic attorney whose personal and professional life begins to unravel as he confronts a deeply flawed legal system.
The original film, directed by Norman Jewison and co-written by Valerie Curtin and Barry Levinson, remains one of the most powerful legal dramas ever made. Pacino’s performance earned him an Academy Award nomination and helped elevate the film into a cultural touchstone. Its courtroom climax still resonates decades later, symbolizing frustration with institutional injustice and moral compromise.
The new series is backed by Ross Fineman, with Sony Pictures Television collaborating alongside Netflix on the project. Miller and Cohn bring experience from shows like Entourage, Ally McBeal, and Boston Public, giving the adaptation a strong television pedigree. With the original studio returning and streaming demand for legal dramas still strong, the project is shaping up as a major revival of a classic property.
Beyond the series revival, Al Pacino is also part of another ambitious Netflix-backed project.
Al Pacino's next on Netflix
Al Pacino appears next in In The Hand of Dante, directed by Julian Schnabel, which adapts Nick Tosches’ novel into a sweeping cinematic experience. The film is set for a theatrical release on June 12 before arriving on Netflix on June 24 following its Tribeca screening. The project features an ensemble cast led by Oscar Isaac, alongside Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, John Malkovich, Jason Momoa, and Martin Scorsese.

Isaac takes on a dual role, portraying author Nick Tosches in the modern era and Dante Alighieri in the 14th century. The narrative explores two parallel journeys tied together by ambition, art, and obsession across time. Schnabel co-adapted the screenplay with Louise Kugelberg and continues his exploration of artistic identity following At Eternity’s Gate.
The story centers on Tosches being tasked with stealing Dante’s manuscript, while the poet himself searches for inspiration to complete The Divine Comedy. Pacino’s presence adds further weight to a film already defined by its scale and ambition, reinforcing Netflix’s push into prestige storytelling.
