of recent times. As the regal series prepares to take its final bow with the
upcoming sixth season, fans of the acclaimed series find themselves at a
crossroads of anticipation and nostalgia.

Peter Morgan, the mastermind behind this royal drama, has recently set the rumor
mill spinning with an intriguing proposition. In fact, he may have even given
them some hope for a prequel.


THE CROWN’S CREATOR TEASES FANS WITH AN “IDEA” FOR A PREQUEL

In a recent interview with Variety, Peter Morgan

The Crown‘s creator teased his loyal fan following with the mention of a
prequel. Even though he did not divulge too much, he revealed that he did “have
an idea.” Unfortunately, his idea would have to wait as he claimed he would
“need to do some other things” first. The creator also admitted that it would
take “a unique set of circumstances” for his idea to come together.

Morgan claimed that he would prefer a prequel to his popular series, as the
present-day ongoings might cause too big of a stir. While that might take lovers
of the royal family down new historical stories that have since been forgotten,
it might be a long wait away. Netflix chief, Ted Sarandos, who was also a part
of the interview, chimed in to side with the creator.

With the final season of The Crown having been announced by Netflix, it is no
wonder that fans are hoping to get their hands on a continuation, spin-off, or
even a prequel.


THE CROWN REACHES ITS FINAL SEASON

In the same interview, Peter Morgan revealed the reason he chose to end the show
after only 6 seasons. He and Sarandos said that they were trying to “keep it
historical and not journalistic.” He also opened up about the series ending “20
years” before it gets too complicated with the present-day issues. While fans
are upset that they will not be seeing the continuation of the series after the
depiction of Princess Diana’s untimely death, the final season still has a lot
to look forward to.



In fact, just two weeks ago, the streaming giant dropped the date announcement
for The Crown. While fans already knew that the last season was being split into
two parts

they now know that the first part will be making its way to the platform on
